Duncan McClellan
An artist for over 30 years, with over 30 works in Museum and Corporate collections, McClellan is not afraid of experimentation and is always challenging his own conventional wisdom. His use of Graal and Overlay techniques produce one of a kind expressive masterworks in glass. The process of working with glass involves creating artwork, blowing, carving, and etching, which can take over 50 hours. This does not include mastering new techniques and creating experimental "studies." For something so complex and time intensive, McClellan's pieces look effortless. Glass has an irresistable appeal. These luscious jewel tone works incorporate intricate designs that are complex yet iconic. His ideas, emotions, and creative imagery combined with a technical expertise produce memorable vessels.
